Helping students land dream jobs
We help students turn real projects, coursework, and experience into job applications that feel specific and credible.
Our Mission
JobGPT was founded by former students who experienced firsthand how difficult it is to translate academic projects into compelling job applications. We built JobGPT to level the playing field, giving every student access to the tools they need to showcase their real work and skills.
The goal is not to generate generic application copy. It is to help students explain what they have actually built, learned, shipped, and improved, then connect that evidence to the roles they want.
Our Story
Founded in 2023, JobGPT started as a side project to help computer science students at Stanford. Today, we serve over 5,000 students from top universities across the country, helping them land positions at Google, Meta, Microsoft, and hundreds of other companies.
What started as a cover letter assistant has grown into a job search workflow: connect your work, match it to roles, generate stronger applications, track progress, and prepare for the interviews that follow.
What We Build
JobGPT combines career coaching patterns with AI-assisted writing and structured job search tools. Students can bring in projects from GitHub, coursework from Canvas, resumes, and job descriptions so each application has context instead of sounding like a template.
We focus on the parts of the search that are slow and repetitive: understanding which roles are worth applying to, tailoring documents, keeping applications organized, and improving each version over time.
Our Values
- Student-first: Everything we build is designed for students
- Privacy: Your data belongs to you, always
- Quality: Every feature is built to the highest standard
